Modern Day Quilt - “Boardwalk Over the Dunes” - SOLD

Modern day quilt style hand crafted using 100% premium cotton.  I named this pattern “Boardwalk Over the Dunes” as it reminds me of the many boardwalks over sand dunes we have walked along to reach the ocean.

Modern day quilts are made with the same love and attention to detail as traditional quilts. Traditional quilts are based on patterns using traditional pieced and quilted block designs from hundreds of years. Modern day quilts, on the other hand, are defined as quilts that are functional, include bold colors, and are inspired by modern design. Minimalism, asymmetry expansive negative space, and alternate grid work are often a part of modern quilt compositions, as are improvisational piecing and solid fabrics. Modern day quilts have taken quilting to a new and modern level, appealing more to the younger generations.  

I have just started making modern day quilts and am really enjoying the vibrant colours and simple designs that come with this style. Like all my quilts, all my quilts are 100% machine washable and dryable.

Whether your quilt is a traditional or modern day one, the same rule applies - Quilts are made to be used, loved always, and enjoyed for many years.
